Experiencing Kilwa🏝

Hello Guys..

So fun fact, growing up i had a height and depth phobia among others, i literally had periods every time i got on a flight it was crazy but i adjusted, well i went to university in an island so my depth phobia seemed crazy when i was surrounded by water on every side . I remember one time me and my girls went skinny dipping on an impulse till today i laugh on such memories.

Now however the beach has become a happy place for me no lie, i find so much peace just seated by the beach, i wont lie am not suddenly thee best swimmer or something but i sure do try.

I love islands even more, my experience at university was rather vegue however iiss it even more now, me and friends have had several trips to mbudya and all and it was lovlie too but cyprus remains my favourite.

My namesake took a trip to kilwa this past weekend, and i must admit apart from being all shades of green with envy and very jelous yes im allowed to be i was stuck in Nairobi working on my paper all weekend and it was raining hard and she had all the sun and the bliss tell me you wouldnt have been😫 Anyway but still i got to experience a little of Kilwa through her and although i look forward to visitng some day i thoughy id share this bit.

This trip had a couple of experiences from a boat ride and yoga on the boat and enjoying the beach

visiting ruins of historical sites where they stored slaves and guns back in the days

A YOGA session at the ruins, this was her exact words only translated to english hihi ” they had slow swahili music the kind they play in the coast, the zanzibar kind, with candles lit facing the sunset on the rooftop of an old mosque with an audience of the birds singing and appearence of the moon shinning, it was very relaxing and to die for

fishing “kolekole” and eating of every sea food you could think of fresh

a trip to mangrove beach and mwangaza , outdoor activities such as snorkeling and diving,

Now more than ever, i am looking forward to visiting Kilwa, i had so many questions and so much was shared and its in my bucket list.. Thanks to Carol_Ciero for letting me experience Kilwa through her.

~Xoxo~~~,
