Arts and its Beauty

I have always been one to stare at either a picture, a photograph, a statue, a curving, a woven material anything actually in art in a visual representation or even audio since i love music as wel and thats art, it has always been fascinating to me.

I walked into the malls in nairobi a number of times and would see artists or gallery owners casually showcasing their work i think it is beautiful. For one anyone can walk into a mall in search of something but sometimes no one would casually walk into a gallery because of the idea we have that maybe its too expensive or so but even looking at it would brighten your day trust me on that and no not all art is rediculously expensive you need to see and ask..

i walked into Galeria mall on a window shopping spree, yes i know dont comment but whats a student to do on a lazy saturdag afternoon .. and there i saw these and i like every other african assumed if i went to close they would think i wanted a peace i was only looking from a side and admiring then moved along

but a little later something moved me abit close and as daring as i was in the mood to be i did go and look at the hanged work up close, they where beautiful canvas quite breathtaking, simple yet very precies. The guy was nice and we got talking and he even let me take these pictures. You guys if ever in Nairobi, should visit Karen Village they have a beautiful artist gallery with different talents showcased.

cheers!

The Giraffe Experience

Today started like any other day honestly… I have been sleeping late writting and working on my paper, and thebi hnded inn my first paper and i was like let me breath ohh as i wait, so then a started waking up earlier than planned, i would initially plan to wakeup at 11 yes 11 ohh and then at 8 make a trip to the loo and the Baaam i hit my toe everyone knows how it is so painful and thats the end of my sleep however not the end of me ranting about it apparently since i still am.

Anyways so today started like that,i had to go to the hospital take out my stiches ( yes thats a story for another day). It was preety quick, quicker than i had expected since last time i went it took ages to finish.. Anyway so afterwards i went to the mall for a stroll and then me and my friend decided to go to the Giraffe center

Okey so this has been our biggest procastination yet, litterally we would plan and re-plan and never visit it, which is very odd since first we live close by second its in our bucket list(so to speak) i know what your thinking, yes there Giraffes back home but this is an upclose experience and well “when in Nairobi do what Nairobians Do” so why not..

Its safe to say it was a very pleasant experience all the same. There where a number of people and so the feeding packets they give you at the entrance is what gurantees your luck with them, I was preety nervous i mean i had questions like do the bite? what if they chew my arm? what if they pulled me over?? what if i fell and many more hedious ones.. But it was an Experience and hey i even met SOPHIA the Giraffe !

“The Giraffe Centre is the creation of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya), a Kenyan non-profit organisation. Our main purpose is to educate Kenyan school children and youth on their country’s wildlife and environment, as well as give local and international visitors an opportunity to come into close contact with the world’s tallest species, the giraffe.”

checkout their website https://www.giraffecentre.org/
